Echo (New Tech Network's Learning Management System) is our online portal. It is designed to support project-based learning, facilitate communication and collaboration, and provide access to grades 24 hours a day. When you login to Echo, you will be able to see announcements, agendas, assignments, project details, and grades for each course.
Infinite Campus provides teachers with a complete online Student Information System. Through Infinite Campus, teachers can access student contact information, schedules, test scores and more. Infinite Campus also serves as a lesson planner and gradebook as well as a behavior management system.
The Louisiana Department of Education provides useful resources for teachers, parents, and students. Educators can find information about Compass, the Technology Adoption Program (TAP), the Value Added Model, and award programs. The site also provides access to Common Core resources and a Teacher Support Toolbox.
Avatar provides an integrated approach to managing professional development. The Jefferson Parish Public School System uses Avatar to deliver, manage and track professional learning content, events, resources and participants. Teachers can use this online tool to register for courses, apply for credit, download transcripts, and print their certificates.
The PFTSTA Library program provides activities to correlate with classroom assignments and projects, as well as activities to promote reading for pleasure. On the library web site teachers can find resources to help with courses and information about all library sponsored events.
School Forms, such as beginning of the year student forms, absentee request, and field trip application forms can be found on the School Forms page. TechBytes is another resource, facilitated by Kelly Maher for and by the teachers at Patrick F. Taylor Science & Technology Academy, with the express purpose of keeping educators up to date on the most current educational technology tools and emerging educational technology.
The Common Core State Standards Initiative aims to make available a consistent, unambiguous understanding of what students are expected to learn under the Common Core Curriculum, so that teachers are better prepared to help them succeed. The standards are designed to be relevant to the real world and emphasize the knowledge and skills that our students will need for success in college and careers in a global economy.
